WHAT IS THE AUSTRALIA-CHINA FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY?

The Australia-China Friendship Society is a non-profit organization, run completely by volunteers. It was founded in 1952 to promote friendship and understanding between the peoples of Australia and China. We believe that trade and cultural links between the two countries are of vital importance.

ACFS PATRON
We are honoured that HE Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of NSW, is our Patron.

ACTIVITIES OF THE SOCIETY

* We hold regular meetings monthly meetings where we hear speakers who have expert knowledge about China;

* We organize tours to China and other countries, at the best value for money;

* We host delegations from China

* We conduct classes in Chinese Medical Qigong and in Chinese language

* We organize excursions and social events for members and friends; and

* We raise money to support the education of disadvantaged children in China’s poorer areas.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
Held in the main hall of the Chinese Youth League, 10 Dixon Street, Sydney, on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 12 noon, and on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. The noon meeting incorporates lunch and the evening one is followed by an optional dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant. Lunch meeting is $7 and evening meeting is $2 donation at the door.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to anyone who agrees with the Society’s aim and purpose of promoting friendship and understanding between the peoples of Australia and China. Membership includes a monthly newsletter with articles, information of future events, tours, etc.

FEES
$25 for Individuals, $30 for Families, $20 for Concessions - annually.
